Why choose CAB to supply and install heating and cooling systems in your house?

There are many local plumbers advertising in the West Midland area, who should I trust?

Why do I need to use a CORGI registered engineer?

Unfortunately the Heating Industry has only been regulated over the last decade or so. There are still no legal guidelines on what constitutes a tradesman. Years ago when central heating became popular, Joe Bloggs down the road could quite easily advertise as a plumber and go around fitting heating systems. Whether they were properly designed and installed is anybodys guess.

Even today there are many people using unregistered engineers because they are cheaper........Our question is `Why are they unregistered?`......have they failed to prove that they are competent to do the job?........don`t they believe that a faulty heating system can kill? ...... why aren`t they interested in providing customer care by ensuring they are kept up to date with new products and guidelines?

Incidentally, you do not have a warranty for your boiler if it is not installed by a Corgi Registered Engineer.....It is void. You may also have trouble claiming off your house insurance if a fire is caused by the boiler due to it not being correctly installed.

We usually find that an unregistered engineer does not have insurance cover either, in many cases registered engineers do not either. If whilst installing a system they knock over a blowtorch in the loftspace and burn the place down, or a fitting fails and your living room is knee deep in water.......who will pay?

By the way if your property and possessions would cost more than £5,000,000 to replace then please let us know as our policy only covers us for that amount!!

As for the question of trust and whether we are capable of doing the installation correctly......The majority of our work is for local authorities, Schools, Hospitals, etc.....all of these institutions have their own qualified engineers to oversee our work and they have no complaints......we have design engineers who have been to college to specialise in system design......our installation teams regularly work on pipework systems up to 200mm in diameter.....our contracts managers and directors have overseen domestic projects on houses worth over £10,000,000. We feel that we can prove our worth !!

With regards to our Air Conditioning installations, our engineers have passed CITB examinations on Safe Handling of Refrigerants, and pipework installation. This is not a legal requirement yet, but we think our Ozone Layer is worth looking after and so we train our engineers to look after it, and how to avoid leaks of potential ozone depleting gases.

The Domestic Air Conditioning marketplace is very active at the moment, most people work in an air conditioned environment, they drive around in a comfort cooled car then they get home and feel uncomfortable. Summers are getting warmer, and the snow isn`t as deep as it was when we were kids !!

One of the largest Air Conditioning manufacturers, LG, have recently introduced the `Art Cool` range of units specifically for the domestic market. These units look outstanding, they have won awards for their innovation and design. They will fit into any room and not look out of place, and from a manufacturer that worldwide produce 1 in 7 of all air conditioning units. The beauty of these units is that they will also heat your home in the winter, and as a bonus they are two thirds cheaper to run than a electric fire or gas central heating system.
